The Christian and Missionary Alliance of El Salvdor
This is the history of the new beginning of a new expansion of the Kingdom of God in Central America: the birth of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in El Salvador. It is a history of untirable work, of obedience to a divine call of men and women bent on making disciples of all nations, just as we are instructed in the Gospels. During my time as President of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Costa Rica, and
Pastor in the C. & M. A. Church in San José, I was blessed with being able to pastor the family of Francisco Peralta. We walked together for five years in God's service, and we shared many moments of spiritual growth, mutual learning, and we were able to observe how the Lord can transform lives. One of the main blessings that happened to me was to
be able to accompany him to his native country of El Salvador. That was a calling that not only meant a change in geography, but also to begin a work that would extend the visions of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. Also travelling with us would be a group of persons who had also decided to return to El Salvador. They also expressed to me their desire to reap the work of their lives in line with the doctrines and missionary visions that has always characterized the C. & M. A. It was at
that moment that I recommended that they begin having meetings in their own homes, with Internet connections. The idea was that bit by bit we could establish a solid base, made up of believers who would learn and practice together the Biblical principles that unite us. We agreed that I would come to visit them one month after beginning the
meetings, and we had no idea the surprise that was awaiting us. When I arrived for my visit, they received me with a congregation of about 25 people who had been meeting in a home and were eager to hear the Word of God. That was a moment full of emotion, and confirmation for all of us, because we could see that the Lord's work had begun to take form, not in an enormous way, but certainly in strong, and and unbreakable way. In that first visit, I asked them if they wanted to
continue that path of faith, knowing that the next step would have to do with baptism, a very important step in the life of every Christian. After giving them the needed materials for baptism, I promised to come back in three months. When I came back, I was happy to discover that 12 people had decided to be baptized. That was a very important moment not only for them, but also for me, because it reaffirmed that God had begun His work in that small group of believers. He would continue the work and would give fruit abundantly. My meeting and harvesting continued with this group for about three years, during which time I was able to observe them as they grew and matured in their faith. and were able to mature spiritually and were able to assume their responsibility as the Church of the Lord. Finally, after that time of formation, I gave the supervision of the group to the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Guatemala.
This is not just a story of history; it is a reminder of the Power of God to work among the small and the simple, to transform hearts, and communities. The beginning of the Church in El Salvador is a clear example of how, through obedience and faith, God can work in a
miraculous way, forming bases that impact lives and further the Kingdom of Christ. It is my hope that this story will serve to inspire everyone just as it has helped this family of Salvadorian missionaries to obey the Call of God, knowing that the Lord honors faithfulness. And although at the beginning, things might seem simple and humble, we know that the end will be glorious in God's sight.
